Hi, I’m Anne adams.
I’ve always known that I wanted a career that I could help people. I feel lucky to have met so many individuals that are willing to open up and share their personal experiences with me.
I am passionate about working with people who struggle with day to day issues, such as balancing home and work life, relationship troubles, and improving self esteem. I believe self esteem impacts every aspect of life, specifically how well someone copes and their ability to regulate emotions. Some of the issues my clients face include grief and loss, trauma, gender specific challenges, anxiety, and depression.
I have specialized training in a counseling technique called Internal Family Systems (IFS). This approach allows my clients to get to know each “part” of themselves and provides a way to regulate emotions and improve problem solving skills. Each “part” has its own perspective, feelings, memories, goals, and motivations. I also have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). While each technique is useful, I believe that every person is unique, and there’s no such thing as the “perfect” approach. The relationship and trust I have with my clients is what’s most important when looking at a successful outcome.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have. It would be my pleasure to spend a few minutes getting to know you.
