Hi, I’m Anne adams.

I’ve always known that I wanted a career that I could help people. I feel lucky to have met so many individuals that are willing to open up and share their personal experiences with me. Before entering the counseling field, I worked as a college recruiter. I mentored teens ranging from ages fourteen to nineteen. While I enjoyed my role as a recruiter, I knew that I wasn’t working in a field that I was truly passionate about. I decided to go back to college to pursue a master’s degree in Professional Counseling. That was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made.
I enjoy collaborating with all age groups, but most of my experience has been with teens and adults. I have worked with couples, families, and individuals and have enjoyed every minute of it. Some of the issues my clients face include grief and loss, trauma, women’s issues, anxiety, and depression. I am passionate about working with women who struggle with day to day issues, such as balancing home and work life, relationship troubles, self-esteem, etc.
I have specialized training in a counseling technique called Internal Family Systems (IFS). This approach allows my clients to get to know each “part” of themselves and provides a way to regulate emotions and improve problem solving skills. Each “part” has its own perspective, feelings, memories, goals, and motivations. I also have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). While each technique is useful, I believe that every person is unique, and there’s no such thing as the “perfect” approach. The relationship and trust I have with my clients is what’s most important when looking at a successful outcome.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have. It would be my pleasure to spend a few minutes getting to know you.
